Latest Spurs news: Last-minute drama helps Tottenham earn point against Man City

The latest instalment of the Tottenham v Manchester City rivalry had lots of drama, once again, right at the end.

Last season’s Champions League encounter at the Etihad will remain etched in memory, but this was another battle that cannot be forgotten.

Manchester City started the game in red hot form as they cut our defence easily. Jan Vertonghen did not start again and Davinson Sanchez was having some problems, like the rest of the team.

Lucas Moura

Raheem Sterling got the opener after a delicious cross from Kevin de Bruyne but we were back in it after Erik Lamela caught Ederson out of position with a curling effort.

The home side then took the lead after a great finish from Sergio Aguero but there was more to come in the second half.

Moura magic from a corner

Spurs were being outplayed in the attacking third by City and we needed some luck to stay in the game.

Lucas Moura was brought on in the second half and he ran towards the box for a corner. The Brazilian then rose highest and headed the ball past the City keeper.

Moura had scored just 19 seconds after coming on and there were wild celebrations in the 56th minute.

City huffed and puffed in the final minutes, and it seemed that Gabriel Jesus had given them the winner in the dying moments of the game.

However, VAR confirmed that Aymeric Laporte had handled the ball in the build-up and the effort was cancelled out.

Many Tottenham fans were relieved at getting the draw while some thanked VAR for helping with the result.
