Spurs transfer news: Brugge interested in signing Wanyama

Belgian giants Club Brugge are interested in signing Victor Wanyama before the end of the transfer window on 2nd September, according to the Express.

The Kenyan has fallen down the pecking order at Tottenham after the arrival of Tanguy Ndombele, and Wanyama has struggled with injuries in the past two years.

The 28-year-old featured in 13 Premier League games last season and is yet to play for us this season.

The report claims that a loan move to West Ham fell through on the final day of the English transfer window. Wanyama is rated at £18m and the report claims that the Kenyan international has two years left on his £65,000-a week deal.

Wanyama wants to leave but his wages are a problem

The Express adds that Wanyama wants to leave Spurs but his high wages could be a problem for Brugge.

The Belgians have made one big signing in Simon Mignolet in the summer and moved a step closer to the Champions League group stage after the first-leg win over LASK last night.

Wanyama will find it difficult to get regular games at Tottenham this season, with Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks, Oliver Skipp and Ndombele on the books.

The Kenyan’s injury record isn’t that great either and selling him in the summer window makes sense.

Tottenham got rid of deadwood such as Vincent Janssen this summer and it wouldn’t be a surprise if more players left before 2nd September.
