Latest Spurs news: Bielsa hints at Clarke featuring for Leeds despite not making a league appearance
Jack Clarke’s loan spell at Leeds hasn’t gone too well this season. The Englishman joined Tottenham in the summer window but was loaned back to his former club.
The 18-year-old broke into Marcelo Bielsa’s team last season and was expected to feature in the starting XIs.
However, the Englishman is yet to feature in a Championship game this season, however, the Argentine assured that the winger will get games (h/t Express):
“For me he’s an important player who has very good individual skills, one vs one.
“There are reasons enough to say nothing is special about why he was not in the 18 players in the last two games.
“We have a lot of matches in the month of August.”
Clarke set for more cup games
The youngster has featured in one Carabao Cup fixture for Leeds and Bielsa confirmed that Clarke will be getting more minutes in midweek:
“Very probably the next game on Tuesday a lot of players who didn’t play before will be in the squad.
“In this moment I am focusing on three wingers. They are putting in good performances, but Clarke will be in or be a substitute of one of them.”
Clarke needs more starts to continue his development and that was one reason he was sent back to Leeds this summer.
The 18-year-old made a handful of starts under Bielsa in the previous campaign as Leeds missed out on Premier League promotion.

Clarke has to cement his place in the Leeds XI before thinking of achieving the same at Spurs. The 18-year-old has great potential but that will only be a footnote if he doesn’t play regularly this season.
