Spurs transfer news: Wanyama tells Forster to keep his shirt “warm”
Fraser Forster has joined Celtic and will wear the 67 jersey for the season. The former Southampton star was speaking about the move and highlighted that Victor Wanyama had teased a return to Celtic Park.
The Kenyan made a name for himself in Scotland before moving to Southampton and then to Tottenham.
The Daily Record claims that Wanyama is closing in on a move to Club Brugge. The report adds that the midfielder has already had his medical but is yet to accept a five-year deal by the Belgian side.
Forster and Wanyama played with current Celtic manager Neil Lennon a few years back, and the goalkeeper admitted that he had been in touch with the Kenyan (h/t Daily Record):
“I picked it, yeah. Victor was straight on me saying ‘keep my shirt warm for a bit!’”
The report adds that Celtic fans have been interested in a reunion with Wanyama as he spent a couple of seasons at the club.
Wanyama’s Tottenham career is all over
The Kenyan was a great signing for us but several injuries have cut short his time on the pitch.
The 28-year-old won’t get regular starts, thanks to the arrival of Tanguy Ndombele, and it is best to sell him now rather than keep him on the books.
