Latest Spurs news: Alli returns to first-team training

Tottenham got a bit of a kick in their previous game as the team lost 1-0 to Newcastle United.

Spurs looked bereft of ideas to break down a well-drilled Newcastle team and were punished by Joelinton in the first half.

We now sit five points behind Liverpool after just three games and our next clash will not be easy either.

Dele Alli in training

Spurs travel to the Emirates for the North London derby, but there was some good news for the team as Dele Alli was spotted in training. The midfielder hasn’t played for us since hurting his hamstring during pre-season, and it would be a major boost for the side if he faces the Gunners.

Fans pleased with Alli’s return

Tottenham have missed some creativity in the middle of the park this season, with Mauricio Pochettino keeping Christian Eriksen on the bench in two of our three Premier League games.

The Dane has come on to have a decent effect in the games against Aston Villa and Newcastle too. Alli makes some great runs when playing behind Harry Kane, and the Englishmen have a great connection.

The 23-year-old struggled for goals last season and it will be interesting to see how he does this time around.

Alli needs to be at his best as we chase trophies under Pochettino, and many Spurs fans shared their opinion to seeing the midfielder train with the team.
