Spurs transfer news: Tottenham holding out for £11m from Brugge for Wanyama

Victor Wanyama’s time at Tottenham is almost done as the Kenyan inches closer to joining Club Brugge.

Mauricio Pochettino recently claimed that the midfielder has had his troubles at the club and it could be time to let him go.

The 28-year-old has had his injury problems over the years and the Sun claims that Brugge have offered £9m for the midfielder.

However, Tottenham are looking at a fee of £11m (h/t Sun) to let the former Southampton star leave.

Wanyama will face a lot of competition for starting spots this season after Spurs signed Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele.

Tottenham making several moves in the summer

Spurs have been busy in allowing several players to leave in the summer too.

Fernando Llorente, Michel Vorm, Kieran Trippier, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Vincent Janssen have been some of the bigname departures in the summer.

This is a good move by Spurs as it cuts down the wage bill and also opens up spots for other signings.

Tottenham signed four players this summer but one of them, Jack Clarke, was loaned back to Leeds United.

Wanyama’s departure should not affect our game-plan a lot given that he barely played for us last season, and Ndombele looks like the real deal after making a couple of appearances for Spurs.
