Latest Spurs news: Winks set to be recalled into England side by Southgate for Euro 2020 qualifiers
The Mirror reports that Harry Winks will be recalled into the England side by Gareth Southgate.
The Tottenham midfielder was dropped from the Nations League finals squad despite Winks returning from an injury.
However, the report claims that Southgate personally assured Winks of his place in the England side, and the Three Lions face Bulgaria and Kosovo as a part of their Euro 2020 qualifiers.
Southgate is also set to call some other impressive youngsters from this season, with Mason Mount and James Maddison joining the Three Lions (h/t Mirror).
Winks doing well this season
The Tottenham midfielder has had his injury problems over the past year or so but has started the season well.
Winks has featured in all three Premier League games for Spurs in this campaign, and he needs to stay fit to keep his place in the team.
Spurs have options in the midfield, with Moussa Sissoko, Eric Dier, Tanguy Ndombele and Oliver Skipp all fighting for the spots.
There are some concerns for another Tottenham player – Dele Alli. The Englishman hasn’t played a game for us this season, and the report claims that Southgate is unsure about naming him in the side.
