Tottenham Hotspur star Lucas Moura expresses disbelief at being omitted for the UEFA Champions League final against Liverpool

Spurs transfer news: Barcelona decided not to move for Moura after asking price of £45m

Barcelona were interested in Tottenham forward Lucas Moura, according to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Daily Star).

The Catalan giants made one huge signing this summer by landing Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid and were also trying to bring Neymar back (h/t Daily Star).

Moura, for his part, was exceptional in our run to the Champions League final and scored some crucial goals too.

The report claims that Tottenham weren’t keen on losing their star and Daniel Levy wanted at least £45m for the Brazilian.

Barcelona did not push on with a deal for Moura and had been linked with a move for Christian Eriksen too (h/t Daily Star).

Tottenham keep hold of their stars

Neither Tottenham star ended up leaving the club, and that will be some relief given that the European transfer window was open until 2nd September.

Moura still hasn’t been able to reach his performance levels from his best season at PSG and hopefully, he gets more chances to play up top alongside Harry Kane this season.

The Brazilian has provided a goal and an assist this season, with that memorable header against Manchester City the highlight from our first four games.

The Champions League journey will also begin once the international break is done, and that is where we could see the best of the attacker.

It speaks volumes that Barcelona were interested in Moura but the Brazilian has to take his game to the next level this season.
