Conflicting reports claim Giovani Lo Celso has returned to Tottenham after injury
Giovani Lo Celso was in action for Argentina against Chile during the international break.
The Tottenham summer signing hasn’t started a game for us but has picked up minutes from the bench.
The 23-year-old could have started some games after the international break, but he had to be replaced against Chile due to an injury.
The youngster claimed that the problem wasn’t anything serious, however, Argentine reports (h/t Football.london) claimed that the 23-year-old had returned to Tottenham and would miss the friendly against Mexico.
However, Argentina’s FA tweeted some photos of Lo Celso in Los Angeles on Saturday with the rest of the side.
The report claims that Argentina then flew out later that night to San Antonio and that is when the decision to send Lo Celso back could have been taken given that they didn’t want to risk further injuries over a friendly.
Tottenham need Lo Celso back
Spurs have a packed schedule once the international break is done, as the domestic cup games and the Champions League start.
We play Crystal Palace next weekend before travelling to Greece to face Olympiakos in the Champions League.
Lo Celso could start in one of those games should he regain fitness, and we need our stars to come back in the best condition.
