Clarke struggled for game time on loan at Leeds and QPR in 2019/20

Jack Clarke scores last-minute winner for England U20s against Switzerland

Jack Clarke hasn’t had a great time at Leeds after returning to Elland Road on loan.

The 18-year-old hasn’t started a Championship game under Marcelo Bielsa and has featured only in some cup ties.

Tottenham signed the highly-rated winger in the summer and sent him back to Leeds for a season on loan.

However, the lack of first-team starts should be a worry as the player needs to develop by playing regular football.

Clarke was in action for England’s U20s against Switzerland and scored the winner for the Three Lions.

The 18-year-old scored in the dying minutes of the game, and this should be a confidence boost for the English youngster.

Spurs fans want him back at the club

Tottenham don’t have many natural wide men in the team and Clarke could provide us some width off the bench.

However, the youngster is still raw and needs to play regularly for Leeds before making the step up to Tottenham.

It will be interesting to see if we call him back from the loan spell in January but many Spurs fans were happy he got a few minutes for England.

Several fans even wanted Clarke to return to the club and here are some of their reactions from Twitter.
