Crystal Palace could allow Wilfried Zaha to leave on the cheap in January

Tottenham were linked with Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha in the summer, according to the Express.

The Ivorian has been one of the best players for Palace in recent years and is one major reason why they are still in the Premier League. The 26-year-old was also linked with Arsenal in the summer (h/t Express), however, he was unable to seal an exit from Selhurst Park.

The attacker would be an excellent signing for any of the top clubs in the Premier League, and Calciomercato claims he still wants to leave the Eagles.

The report claims that many clubs wanted to sign Zaha in the summer but backed out of a deal due to Palace’s high asking price. However, the Eagles could sell the Ivorian in the winter window for a lower fee (h/t Calciomercato).

Zaha has struggled this season in London and is yet to record a goal or an assist after six games in the Premier League.

Do Tottenham need Zaha?

Spurs allowed Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen to leave in the summer without signing a replacement.

Troy Parrott is the only cover we have for Harry Kane, but Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min can play up front.

However, we could do with someone of Zaha’s ability as the Ivorian is versatile enough to play out wide too. Tottenham have struggled this season and could do with more fresh faces coming in.

It will be interesting to see how much Palace ask for the Ivorian in January after failing to sell him in the summer.
