Real Madrid interested in January move for Christian Eriksen
Real Madrid might be doing well in La Liga but their performance in the Champions League has been far from adequate.
Los Galacticos started their UCL season with a loss to Paris Saint-Germain and were surprisingly held by Club Brugge in their latest encounter.
Madrid made some big signings in the summer but weren’t able to add quality midfielders to their ranks.
However, that is set to change in the winter window with the club interested in signing Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek, according to Marca (h/t Daily Mail).
Eriksen is a free agent at the end of the season and Madrid could land him on the cheap in January. The 27-year-old rejected a move to Manchester United in the summer as he wanted a move to the Spanish capital (h/t Daily Mail).
Tough call for Spurs
Eriksen hasn’t been at his best this season for Tottenham and we could lose him for nothing in the summer. Selling him in January would be a smart move if Madrid are willing to fork up a decent sum.
The Dane is still one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, and it will be interesting to see how things develop on this front.
Eriksen wanted a new challenge after the Champions League final but was unable to seal an exit. Losing Eriksen midway through the season would be a blow but we have signed Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis.
The Argentine could replace the 27-year-old, however, Lo Celso has endured a frustrating time at Tottenham due to injuries.
