Jose Mourinho emerges as candidate to replace Mauricio Pochettino
Mauricio Pochettino is under immense pressure after the latest loss at the hands of Brighton. Tottenham were humbled 3-0 by the Seagulls as we barely put up a fight, and Calciomercato claims that Spurs have identified Jose Mourinho as one of the candidates to replace the Argentine.
SportNation (h/t Calciomercato) adds that Max Allegri is also one of the top options to replace Pochettino.
The Portuguese has won league titles in four countries and won three Premier Leagues with Chelsea during his two stints with the club. However, his tenure with Manchester United didn’t go all that well as he was sacked from the job last season.
The former Real Madrid manager did win the Europa League with the Red Devils, however, he is also a very disruptive force.
Spurs need to think before making a big move
Mourinho has had his ups and downs while being a manager, but he has always spent a lot of money in charge of a club.
Pochettino has had to keep a check on his spending, especially after our new stadium was built. However, the Argentine hasn’t been able to get us going after a tough start to the campaign.
Mourinho has a track record of starting his career well with a new club, however, things go bad after two or three seasons.
