Tottenham fans impressed with Juan Foyth’s display against Germany
Juan Foyth has been one of the unlucky Tottenham players this season after missing most of the campaign.
The Argentine injured his ankle during a pre-season game and hasn’t featured in any of our clashes. He has been on the bench a couple of times but Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t used him yet.
The 21-year-old could be a solution to our right-back problems and was in action against Germany in a friendly.
The Europeans mixed their team around under Joachim Low while Argentina were without the services of Lionel Messi.
Germany raced into a two-goal lead thanks to efforts from Serge Gnabry and Kai Havertz but Argentina fought back. Lucas Alario grabbed a goal after the break and Lucas Ocampos equalised with five minutes left.
Foyth plays as the right-back
Serge Aurier hasn’t been great at right-back this season while Kyle Walker-Peters has spent a lot of time injured.
Moussa Sissoko has been tried in that position, but the Frenchman is at his best in the midfield. Foyth did a decent job against the Germans on the right-hand side of the defence, and it will be interesting to see if Mauricio Pochettino starts him after the international break.
Foyth was impressive in a few games last season, but those came when he played as a central defender. However, we could try someone else at right-back after the poor season we have had.
Many Tottenham fans were left impressed by the Argentine in the position, and here are some of their reactions from the evening.
