Marcelo Bielsa claims Jack Clarke is closing in on first-team action
Jack Clarke is one of the brightest talents in the Championship. Over the summer, Tottenham pulled off a masterstroke by landing the Englishman and then loaning him back to Leeds United.
The 18-year-old helped Leeds to the Championship playoffs in the previous campaign but he hasn’t featured in the league this season.
Clarke has only played in two Carabao Cup games but Marcelo Bielsa has claimed that the Englishman is on the right path for first-team games.
The Argentine has been handicapped by EFL rules which restrict the number of loan players on a matchday side but he provided a positive outlook for Clarke (h/t Football.london):
“He is improving.
“Clarke has a process that allows him to play in the first team.
“After he had a problem far from a long period. Now, step by step, he’s finding his level.”
Bielsa added that Clarke has the same “options” as the other attackers at Leeds and it would be difficult to ignore him if the Englishman did well:
“When he’s powered to unbalance a match he’s better than one of his team-mates. He’s going to have space because all the managers pay attention, no manager would ignore his skill.”
Clarke has to pay regularly
The Argentine is one of the best managers in the world and the Englishman is capable of developing well at the Championship club.
However, Clarke has to feature regularly for the first-team and hopefully, he will get a string of games in the coming weeks.
