Bruno Fernandes rejects new contract with Sporting Lisbon
Tottenham were unable to land Bruno Fernandes in the summer as they concentrated on other areas, according to the Express. Spurs signed four players in the summer, but have struggled for consistency this season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have only scored 17 goals from 11 Premier League games this season, and lie 11th after the 1-1 draw vs Everton.
Fernandes, for his part, has continued his fine scoring form this season with seven goals and six assists in all competitions. The 24-year-old Sporting Lisbon star can play in several positions, which would make him a decent addition to the Tottenham side.
Fernandes has also put Tottenham and Manchester United on alert as the midfielder has turned down a new deal with Sporting (h/t Express).
The report claims that the new situation could tempt either club to reignite their interest in the winter transfer window.
Tottenham need some fresh faces in the side
Giovani Lo Celso has barely played for us this season while Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen have struggled to score. Fernandes could help our attack score more goals and we could do with some signings in the winter window.
However, we spent big in the summer by landing Tanguy Ndombele, Lo Celso, Ryan Sessegnon and Jack Clarke.
