Tottenham target Leicester City defender Ricardo Pereira
Ricardo Pereira has been one of the most impressive Premier League right-backs in recent years.
The 26-year-old has helped Leicester to second in the league table and already has two goals to his name.
Pereira is a regular for the Portugal national team and has improved leaps and bounds since his days at FC Porto.
The Express (h/t ESPN) claims that the Leicester defender is a target for Tottenham. Spurs are under new management with Jose Mourinho replacing Mauricio Pochettino, and the Foxes defender praised our new boss recently.
The 26-year-old also claimed that Mourinho was missed in the league and told the Record (h/t ESPN):
“He’s [Mourinho] been missed.
“He’s one of the best coaches in the world.”
Spurs looking to replace a former player
The report goes on to say that Mourinho is looking to replace Kieran Trippier.
The English defender joined Atletico Madrid in the summer and we haven’t been able to find a solid solution.
Serge Aurier is always on the edge of making a mistake while Kyle Walker-Peters hasn’t been able to grab the chances presented to him.
Leicester would want more than the €25million they paid for Pereira in 2018 (h/t ESPN).
However, with the Foxes flying high, it will be interesting to see if they are open to selling the right-back.
