Jose Mourinho confirms no move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the winter window
Jose Mourinho has ruled out a move for former AC Milan and Inter Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the January window.
The new manager saw Tottenham win their first game under him and Ibrahimovic has been linked with a return to the Serie A (h/t Calciomercato).
The Swedish striker played under Mou at Inter and Manchester United. However, the manager confirmed he isn’t part of our plans.
Mourinho was speaking to the press before the Champions League clash against Olympiakos.
The gaffer was asked if he was keen on landing Ibra and said (h/t Calciomercato):
“I have a good relationship with him [Ibrahimovic]. He is a fantastic player and a fantastic guy but I don’t see any chance to sign him.”
Mourinho ruled out the move for Ibra because of the presence of Harry Kane:
“We have the best striker in the league. It would make no sense to take Ibrahimovic when you have Harry Kane in the team.”
The Swede will be a free agent once his contract with the LA Galaxy comes to an end in January.
Tottenham see the best of their attack
Our win over West Ham showed the quality we have in our attack. Lucas Moura, Son Heung-min and Kane all found the back of the net.
Dele Alli was at his best too as he played a role in a couple of goals, and Kane looked sharp in the final third.
