Tottenham fans react as Bruno Fernandes signs new deal with Sporting Lisbon
Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes has signed a new deal with Sporting Lisbon.
The 25-year-old was linked with a move to Tottenham in the summer, and the Sun claims we came close to nabbing him too.
Manchester United were also keen on the midfielder, and it the report claims that he is a target for Spurs.
However, landing him would be tougher now given that Sporting won’t let him leave for less than £85million (h/t Sun).
The Portuguese star has been in excellent form over the past two years. He even helped the national team win the first Nations League title too.
Fernandes scoring goals for fun
The midfielder can play in several positions and is a regular on the scoring charts.
The 25-year-old has eight goals and six assists to his name for Sporting this season. He was even more prolific in the previous campaign notching up 20 goals and 13 assists in the league.
Fernandes also scored in Portugal’s 2-0 over Luxembourg recently and it will be interesting to see if he is on the move in the coming months.
Tottenham could do with another goal-scoring midfielder but Dele Alli seems to be doing well under Jose Mourinho.
The Englishman was great in the win over West Ham United and found the back of the net against Olympiakos too.
Fernandes could add more goals to the team, however, many fans believed the new deal was the end of our interest in the midfielder:
