Giovani Lo Celso’s future is uncertain after Jose Mourinho joins club
Giovani Lo Celso joined Tottenham in the summer after a great season with Real Betis. The Argentine also played for the national side during the Copa America.
The former PSG star hasn’t been able to replicate his form from last season and has only made two starts for Spurs.
Lo Celso hasn’t played under Jose Mourinho since the Portuguese took over from Mauricio Pochettino.
His future seems to be in doubt too, according to Estadio Deportivo (h/t Sky Sports).
Spurs signed the 23-year-old on loan with the option to make it permanent later on.
They would not have to pay £35m to make the deal permanent if they miss out on the Champions League (h/t Sky Sports).
Too early for Mourinho to make the call
Lo Celso might have struggled to adapt to Pochettino’s style and he needs time to learn Mourinho’s game too.
It is too early to confirm whether the player can’t fit or perform under the new manager.
Lo Celso was great for Betis and should be given a few months before a call is made on his future.
The 23-year-old can provide a lot of goals from the midfield and that is something that Mourinho can work with.
Spurs have some big games coming up and Lo Celso should get more minutes under his belt.
