Jose Mourinho rejected £12m from Real Madrid by becoming Tottenham manager
Jose Mourinho was a wanted man despite being sacked by Manchester United last season.
The Portuguese took over at Tottenham after Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking but he rejected some big offers to become our new manager.
The Sun reports that Real Madrid were willing to offer him £12m to wait and see as to when Zinedine Zidane would leave.
Zidane hasn’t seen Real do well despite taking over in the summer, however, Mourinho had decided to make Tottenham his next club (h/t Sun).
Mega offers for Mourinho
Mourinho is a winner and is one of the best managers for short-term success. He has always won something at a club and had some big offers on the table too.
Borussia Dortmund, Lyon and AC Milan were all keen on the former Inter Milan manager (h/t Sun).
There was interest from China too, with Guangzhou Evergrande offering him £40m after tax to take over.
Daniel Levy has pulled off a coup by landing Mourinho, and we have picked up positive results after his arrival.
We have won all our games under the new manager but our leaky defence is a concern.
Even in our last game, we were cruising at 3-0 but Bournemouth scored a pair to make things difficult for us.
