Tottenham and Arsenal are set to battle it out for Hakim Ziyech

Tottenham and Arsenal are set to fight it out for Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech in this January transfer window (h/t Mirror)

The 26-year-old had a stellar season last year when he was pivotal in Ajax reaching the last four of the UEFA Champions League.

The attacking midfielder has carried over his form into this season, with his performance away to Chelsea a particular highlight.

The Moroccon international has play 30 for the Eredivisie Champions so far and has scored 8 goals and 16 assists. (h/t Whoscored)

In a boost for Tottenham’s hopes, the player has been told he can leave this month if his transfer valuation is met.

Ajax have placed a price of £43 million on the player, a hefty profit over the £10 million they paid to FC Twente to secure his services in 2016. With arch-rivals Arsenal also interested, Spurs should move quickly to secure the player’s signature.

Our ability to provide Champions League football this season should give us an advantage over the gunners in securing the player’s signature.

Ziyech is a versatile attacker who can play both centrally and on the right flank. This should add fluidity to a Spurs midfield that has far been too static this year.

With Ziyech’s contract running till 2022, Ajax are under no pressure to sell and it is up to us to offer acceptable terms.

The midfielder is also keen on a move after having seen the likes of Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt move to Barcelona and Juventus respectively in the summer.

Lo Celso has played 19 times for Argentina and has scored 2 goals.
