Twitter reacts to Tottenham Hotspur’s loss to Liverpool
Liverpool were the better side in the first half and took the lead through Roberto Firmino in the 37th minute.
Spurscame to life in the second half and should have scored with Son Heung-Min, Serge Aurier and Erik Lamela all going close. Giovani Lo Celso had the best chance for Spurs, but could not connect well and instead struck the ball wide from 4 yards.
Debutant Japhet Tanganga had an excellent game and did well to limit Firmino and Sadio Mane for most of the game. His inexperience came to the fore as he afforded Firmino space for Liverpool’s winner.
Apart from that one glaring oversight, the youngster had a fairly solid debut and is one to look out for the future.
In the end, it was a promising performance from Spurs, who have a number of key players out with injury. Had any of the chances been taken, the game could have turned out otherwise.
Although disappointed with the result, a majority of the Spurs fans were heartened by what they saw and took to Twitter to express themselves.
