Tottenham to prioritize summer signing of Max Aarons

According to Daily Star, (h/t Football London), Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Norwich City defender Max Aarons in the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old right-back is capable of defending and contributing to the attack. He has impressed in spite of his club’s struggles this season.

The youngster has been a regular in the Norwich backline. He has made 23 appearances for the Canaries in his debut season in the English Premier League. (h/t Whoscored)

Tottenham were linked with a move for Aarons in January. However, Norwich chose not to sell the player midway through the season.

Spurs failed to replace Keiran Trippier in the summer and have been reliant on Serge Aurier as the starting right back.

Danny Rose and Kyle Walker-Peters are out of favour and have been sent on loans to Newcastle United and Southampton respectively.

The emergence of Japhet Tanganga, who can also play at right-back, will add some depth to the Spurs backline. However, Aurier is a volatile player and the team could do with an alternative.

At just 20, Aarons has shown excellent promise. By securing his signature Spurs can lock down what has been a problematic position for the better part of the decade.

It remains to be seen if the deal goes through but Aarons has the ability to be a remarkable signing for any top team.
