Les Ferdinand delivers update on Tottenham target Eberechi Eze

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a fruitful season so far. He has scored 11 goals and six assists in 36 appearances for the Hoops. The youngster is the third top scorer at the club while also making more assists than anyone else at the club. (h/t BBC)

QPR are currently 13 points off the playoff spots with 12 games left in the season. It looks unlikely that they will make the cut given the time frame left. Missing out on promotion could spell doom for the club’s hope of keeping their talented prospect.

Ferdinand admitted that it will be difficult to keep hold of the player, considering the attention his performances this season have garnered. The 53-year-old revealed that he had to fend off interest from a number of clubs in January.

If the player keeps up his performances for the rest of the season, there is no reason to believe there won’t be more offers flooding in during the summer.

Tottenham are likely to face competition from local rivals Chelsea who are also keen on the player.

Ferdinand has high hopes for the youngster who he believes can go a long way in his career. He currently rates Eze to be good enough to play for a top-six side in the Premiership.

“I think if you look at his ability, I see him playing for one of the top six sides”

Still only 21, he can only get better with age. Ferdinand stated that he believes there are areas of improvement, but with age on his side, he should be able to iron them out.

Eze is qualified to play senior international football for Nigeria or England. He has so far made a total of nine youth appearances for the English Under-20 and Under-21 sides.
