Spurs release video to commemorate Hugo Lloris’s 250th EPL appearance

Hugo Lloris has been one of Tottenham’s stalwarts over the better part of the last decade. Signed in 2012 from Lyon, the goalkeeper has established himself as a colossus in the goal.

The 33-year-old reached a personal milestone against Chelsea as he made his 250th league appearance for Spurs. He is just the sixth Tottenham player and the first Spurs goalkeeper to achieve this in the Premier League era.

Lloris has kept 88 clean sheets in these appearances and is currently 16th on the all-time list.

Hugo Lloris has led Tottenham with distinction

Over the years the French captain has stepped up time and time again to make at times unbelievable saves. He also has a knack of saving penalties as he saved five spot-kicks, just four off the all-time record of nine.

In order to commemorate the player’s achievement, Tottenham Hotspur released a video compilation of Lloris’ best saves. It’s a highlight reel well worth the watch and shows exactly how good the Spurs keeper is.

Although Lloris has regressed over the years, he is still capable of holding his own against the best strikers in the league. Unfortunately, his 250th game was a day to forget as he was beaten Oliver Giroud and Marcos Alonso in a loss that could affect Tottenham’s chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.

Lloris is also France’s most capper goalkeeper having represented his country 114 times. He currently holds the fourth spot overall for most appearances in his France’s illustrious history.

He led his nation to their second World Cup win in Russia in 2018 and was decorated with the ‘Legion of Honour’ for his achievement.
