Hugo Lloris rallies teammates to overcome RB Leipzig challenge

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris has issued a rallying cry to his teammates to write new stories in the Champions League ahead of the second leg against RB Leipzig.

He brought up Tottenham’s incredible comeback against Ajax last season while insisting that it is unwise to dwell on the past. He reiterated the need to find positives while also stressing on the need to write new stories.

“We have to take everything positive but I think it belongs to the past, we need to write new stories.”

The Frenchman was the hero of the first leg as he repeatedly kept the Leipzig attackers at bay. He has single-handedly kept Spurs in the tie and should be given credit if we do manage to turn the tie around.

Lloris admits that there is no margin for error and that Tottenham will have to win the game at all costs. He stressed on the need to play the perfect game to obtain the required result.

He lavished praise on Leipzig and admitted that they are a very good side. Lloris is not surprised by the Germans challenging Bayern Munich for the title as it was a testament to their quality.

Lloris reiterated the need to believe but also be ready to fight. According to the skipper, the Champions League is a different competition and one goal can change the tie.

“We have to believe”

Spurs have struggled since the winter break and are yet to win since the restart. The club has also failed to keep in touch with Chelsea, who have now pulled seven points clear in the race for fourth place.

A comeback in the second leg after losing the first one 1-0 at home will not be new territory for Spurs. The last time this happened, it led to one of the greatest nights in the club’s history.

The fans will hope for a repeat as Lloris and co. walkout against Leipzig on Tuesday.
