Harry Kane says he wants to be a Premier League winner rather than PL top-scorer

Harry Kane and Jamie Redknapp took part in a lively Q+A session which was conducted by the former Tottenham star.

The Englishmen were taking part in the session in the comforts of their respective homes as the world deals with the coronavirus pandemic.

Redknapp asked Kane several questions about the England captain’s time at Tottenham and there were some tough spots for the Spurs star.

One question Redknapp asked made Kane choose between a couple of big options:

“Which one would you prefer, a Premier League winner or top scorer in the Premier League?”

Kane, however, didn’t spend a lot of time thinking about it and quickly replied “Premier League winner”.

The England captain went on to say that he was in the sport to win trophies, and lifting the league title would be great.

Kane is 13th on the all-time Premier League scorers list with 136 goals from 201 games. He trails Alan Shearer, who scored 260 goals from 441 games.

Kane is capable of breaking the record if he keeps scoring at this rate but winning the PL seems to be the priority. The answer also showed that Kane is a winner and prefers a team reward more than an individual one.

Spurs need to keep Kane

Although we didn’t manage to challenge for the title this season, it will be interesting to see how we do in the coming years.

Jose Mourinho has won league titles in every country he has managed, and did it in England with Chelsea too.

Kane is in the prime of his career and we need to do all we can to keep hold of the Englishman. The England captain is just 26 and will improve further in the coming years.

Spurs need to build a team around him to have any chance of winning silverware. We were close last year as we reached the Champions League final but our performances have been sketchy this time around.
