Tottenham confirm Jimmy Greaves hasn’t contracted coronavirus
Tottenham have confirmed that club legend Jimmy Greaves, who was hospitalized earlier this week, hasn’t contracted coronavirus or had another stroke (h/t Surrey Comet).
The Lilywhites had announced on Tuesday night that our all-time leading goalscorer, who had turned 80 in February, had been hospitalized due to an unspecified illness.
The legendary striker has been battling health issues for a while now. The 80-year-old suffered a severe stroke in 2015 which left him unable to speak and wheelchair-bound.

However, in the club’s latest update, they have confirmed that Greaves hasn’t suffered another stroke, nor has he contracted the coronavirus. The same was relayed by Greaves’ official Facebook page that is run by his friend and agent Terry Baker (h/t Surrey Comet).
“They have confirmed to us that Jimmy has not tested positive for COVID-19 nor suffered another stroke, however he does remain in hospital where he continues to be monitored and treated.”
Jimmy’s family has asked us to pass on their thanks for all the well wishes and positive messages they have received since our record goalscorer was admitted to hospital on Tuesday.
