Tottenham fans react as AC Milan eye Lloris as Donnarumma replacement

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has emerged as a transfer target for Serie A giants AC Milan, who are preparing to lose star shot-stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma in the summer. This is according to a report from Italian publication Calciomercato (h/t Ricky Sacks).

Lloris has been with our club for almost a decade now and has been one of our best signings during the period. For the longest time the Frenchman was one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League. But this season has shown that age seems to be catching up with the seasoned campaigner.

Lloris has made a few blunders in goal that have cost us games, leading to talks of the club eyeing a new long-term replacement for the Frenchman. Now, it has emerged that our No. 1 is on the radars of AC Milan, with Donnarumma likely to be on the move (h/t Ricky Sacks).

The 21-year-old will be entering the final year of his contract in the summer. And, talks over a new deal haven’t gone smoothly, leading to speculations over his future (h/t Express).

This, coupled with Milan’s interest in Lloris has gotten the Tottenham fans talking, with many clamouring for a swap deal to take place. Here’s how some of the fans reacted to Ricky Sacks’ tweet that reported the rumour;

Donnarumma is one of the finest young goalkeepers in Europe and no doubt, he would be an excellent replacement for Lloris if and when we decide to phase him out of the first-team. A swap deal though, as appealing as it sounds, is highly improbable.
