Tottenham fans relive incredible 4-3 Champions League clash against Man City

Last-minute drama, tears and celebration were in store last year when Tottenham faced Manchester City in an incredible Champions League clash.

Spurs came into that clash with a 1-0 win in the first-leg of the quarter-finals. Son Heung-min got the only goal of the game in that win, but things were not doing to be easy at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City were in great touch, however, we had some firepower to deal with them too.

It was an incredible game with Man City scoring four goals and Tottenham getting three, however, the drama was right at the end of this Champions League clash.

Raheem Sterling thought he had scored a stoppage time goal but that was ruled out by VAR. Tottenham could hardly believe it, Pep Guardiola was on his knees and our players went crazy when the final whistle blew.

This was proof that there was something special in this team, and the Spurs Twitter account decided to relive this match exactly a year from when it took place.

Unbelievable scenes

Our Champions League journey last season was filled with ups and downs. For a few seconds, it seemed like we were out of the quarter-finals before VAR stepped in.

Similarly, we needed a miraculous second half comeback against Ajax to seal our place in the final. Granted, that clash against Liverpool didn’t go our way, but there were some incredible European nights in last season’s campaign.

There isn’t any football on at the moment, and reliving some of our recent memories is a great past-time.

Spurs picked out a great match to bring back some sweet memories, especially of Mauricio Pochettino.

Several fans got more than a little nostalgic and here are some of their reactions from Twitter:
