Tottenham Hotspur stars return to training after facility reopens

All training grounds had been shutdown amid lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, after a few clubs opened their training facilities earlier this week, Tottenham also announced that player will be allowed to use the Hotspur Way facility, on a strict rotational basis.

Star striker Harry Kane was the first to arrive for training at the Hotspur Way facility on Tuesday. The England captain, who is recuperating from an injury, will be itching to get back on the field.

Tottenham have assured that social-distancing rules will be followed at the facility (h/t Daily Mail).

“All activity will be conducted in line with government guidelines with social distancing maintained at all times.”

Tottenham have courted controversy during lockdown after several player flouted guidelines. It started with Ryan Sessegnon and Davinson Sanchez going on a jog together. At the same time, Jose Mourinho conducted an outdoor training session with Tanguy Ndombele.

Recently, Serge Aurier posted videos of training outside with teammate Moussa Sissoko. Following this, the pair issued an apology and made a contribution to the NHS.

With players allowed to train at Hotspur Way, the club will be hoping that there are no more controversies.

Tottenham are currently eighth in the Premier League table. With seven points separating Spurs from fourth-placed Chelsea, we can close down that gap in the remaining nine matches.

With players now returning to training, let’s hope we don’t have to wait for too long for football to resume.
