Tottenham Hotspur welcomes two new official supporters clubs
Even amidst the shutdown, the passion for Tottenham Hotspur continues to ring among our faithful fans around the world.
As posted on the club’s official site, Tottenham Hotspur welcomes two more supporters clubs to the fold. The formation of Cambridgeshire Spurs in the United Kingdom and Sri Lanka Spurs in Asia takes our supporter clubs worldwide to 272. This is spread over more than 60 countries.
The Sri Lanka Spurs is the first official fanbase our club has in the South Asian nation, further extending our reach in the Indian subcontinent.
Spurs already have a strong presence in that part of the world with four such clubs in India while Nepal and Bangladesh have one each. We now have 32 such clubs all across Asia.
If you are a Spurs fan who is keen on starting a supporters club, all you have to do is join up with 14 more fans and apply through the club by paying a nominal amount. You can find all the required details here.
Not just a presence on the pitch!
With the coronavirus crisis wreaking havoc all across the world, the club’s supporter groups have done their best to help those in need.
In Northern Ireland, members of Maiden City Spurs have provided essential supplies for NHS staff at their local hospital. The same group has also gone ahead and supported the production of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Across the Atlantic, the Toronto Spurs in Canada have built a community support network. Volunteers spend their time to run errands for those who are vulnerable or self-isolating. Further south in the USA, DC Spurs and Louisville Spurs have raised funds for staff at their home pubs, whose jobs have been impacted by the lockdown.
