Lucas Moura keen to stay at Tottenham Hotspur for years to come

According to an interview with Jorge Nicola via Sport Witness (h/t Football.london), the agent of Tottenham Hotspur star Lucas Moura has stated that the Brazilian wishes to remain at the club for the foreseeable future.

The 27-year-old joined Spurs from PSG in January 2018 has gone on to become a fan favourite at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He has so far made 99 appearances and scored 23 goals and 9 assists.

Moura was in and out of the starting XI under Mauricio Pochettino. He has thrived under Jose Mourinho, find opportunities easier to come under the Portuguese. He is the only Spurs star to feature in all 26 games under the new manager.

With his contract running out at the end of the 2022/23 season, his agent Junior Pedroso has revealed that the player intends to finish his career back in his homeland with Sao Paulo.

The winger began his professional career at the Brazilian giants, making 88 appearances in his two years at the club. A return will help bring his career full circle.

“He desires to continue, obviously to grow at Tottenham and seek a more competitive team. I think Mourinho will work on that.”

Moura is, however, a committed footballer who is at the moment loyal to Spurs. A return to his homeland is unlikely to occur in the next 5 years, by which time he will be around 33 years old.
