Christian Eriksen names Mousa Dembele the best he has played with

In an Instagram Q&A with DR Sporten (h/t TranSPURS), Christian Eriksen was asked to name the best player he has ever played with, and the Danish international picked ex-Spurs teammate Mousa Dembele.

Dembele joined Tottenham from fellow London club Fulham in 2012 in a deal worth £17.1m. The Belgian spent seven years at the club, making 249 appearances scoring 10 goals in the process. He left the club in January 2019, joining Chinese Super League club Guangzhou R&F.

Eriksen arrived at our club a year and spent close to seven years, leaving for Inter Milan earlier this January. Having played for almost six years with Dembele, the former Ajax star labelled the Belgian as the best player he has ever played with.

“It’s a tough one. I feel like I’ve been lucky in my career so far. But I have to say Mousa Dembele.”

Eriksen is not the first one to say that Dembele is the best they have played with. Recently, Danny Rose, who is currently on loan at Newcastle United, also had named the Belgian as the best player he shared the pitch with. In addition, former Arsenal star Jack Wilshere had labeled the 32-year-old as his toughest opponent ever.

Tottenham fans took to Twitter in full force after Eriksen’s comments, reminiscing Dembele’s ability and how the club hasn’t been able to still replace him.
