Gedson Fernandes takes part in Twitter Q and A

Gedson Fernandes has opened up on his early months at Tottenham Hotspur in a Twitter Q and A session on the social platform.

The club had called upon fans to present their questions for the midfielder yesterday. It was met with an overwhelming response, with a large number of queries being put forward.

Having moved to a foreign country for the first time with Spurs, a change in language and culture would have been difficult to handle.

He has named teammates Lucas Moura and Eric Dier in helping him settle. Gedson has attributed their fluency in Portuguese to being a key factor.

“It was Lucas and Eric because both of them speak Portuguese and they help me a lot.”

Hailing from Brazil, Moura is proficient in the language. Having come through the ranks at Sporting Lisbon, Dier too has picked up the local language.

Gedson also went on to answer a number of other queries put forward by fans. On his inspirations growing up, Gedson credited his parents for everything they had done for him and his sister.

The funniest players at Tottenham according to the Portuguese are Son Heung-min and Serge Aurier because they are “always joking”. He is yet to decide who is the best FIFA player at the club as he has not played everyone yet.

He also opened up on how he kept himself entertained during the lockdown

“I tried to do different things at home, like play basketball, playing video games, using the gym and resting in the cinema room.”
