Tottenham Hotspur issue club statement following positive Covid-19 test
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed on their official site that an individual at the club has tested positive for Covid-19 following the latest round of Premier League tests.
Keeping in line with medical confidentiality, the club has not released the name of the individual so affected.
The club has confirmed that the person is currently asymptomatic. They will now self-isolate for seven days, strictly in line with Premier League protocol, before undergoing further testing.
Spurs will continue to strictly adhere to the Premier League’s Return to Training protocol. They are keen to ensure that the Training Centre remains a safe and virus-free working environment.

The issue came to light following the fifth round of tests. 1,197 players and staff were analyzed this time around. (h/t Daily Star)
This comes just a fortnight before the Premier League was set to restart. With millions riding on the season being completed, a return to the pitch was going to happen at some point.
While the Premier League declines to release information on those affected by the virus, it was the club that chose to confirm that the individual in question belonged to them.

A total of 13 individuals have returned positive results. Six of those came in the first round of testing on May 17-18. The second round on May 19-22 saw two further confirmations while the third round on May 25-26 saw four more. The fourth round of testing from May 28-29 found zero new cases. (h/t Premier League)
Of a total of 5079 tests so far, 13 have tested positive.
