Tottenham Hotspur to resume PL campaign against Manchester United

According to the Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur will restart their Premier League campaign vs Manchester United on June 19.

With both teams vying for a spot in the top four, the game promises to be a cracker with two fully fit teams going up against each other. Add to it Jose Mourinho’s history with the Red Devils, a neutral cannot wish for a better opening weekend.

Most clubs are likely to agree to all rearranged dates, although some fixtures are still subject to change. (h/t Daily Mail)

We then face West Ham United on June 23 before playing another crucial clash for the top four against Sheffield United.

The match against United would have been missing some of it’s biggest names had it gone as scheduled. Spurs now have the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min, Moussa Sissoko, and Steven Bergwijn all fit and available. The same can be said for United, who have welcomed back Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba into the fold.

Tottenham, at one point of time, looked primed to pip Chelsea to fourth place. However, injuries and a bad run of results have since seen us drop to eighth place.

A win will not only bring us closer to Chelsea but also United. Three points on the night will see us trail Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side by a solitary point.

Given our precarious financial situation, a return to the lucrative Champions League is a necessity. Although the matter is now out of our hands, wins against United and Sheffield will give us a much-needed boost.

Tottenham have just 9 more games to end the season. A strong finish could just make our summer rebuild all the more easier.
