Tottenham Hotspur target Victor Osimhen denies Napoli agreement

Speaking to Omnasports (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur target Victor Osimhen has denied news that he has agreed to move to Napoli.

The 21-year-old Nigerian is one of the hottest young strikers on the continent and has garnered considerable attention. Apart from us, he has also been linked to a host of clubs in England and Italy.

The player’s agent had earlier credits the Italian side as the only team that has shown concrete interest in his client. This led to Nigerian outlet Omnasports claiming that an agreement is in place between the player and Napoli.

The matter was cleared when the player himself got in touch with the site to deny the news. He also went on to add that when there is an agreement, we shall hear it directly from him.

“The news relating to my agreement with Napoli is false. I am surprised by these journalists who claim to be professionals.”

Osimhen joined Lille from Belgian side Charleroi last summer. Signed for around £10million, the French side could end up making a huge profit from selling the prolific marksman. With four more years to go before his contract expires, they hold the advantage when it comes to negotiations.

Osimhen has made 38 appearances for the club this season. He has scored 18 goals and 6 assists. He is capable of cutting it at the highest level and has scored twice in the UEFA Champions League. (h/t Transfermarkt)

The player will not come cheap. Lille have made a fortune off selling their stars in recent years. In the last three years, the club have made £219million through sales. (h/t Daily Mail)

It is heartening to know that the Nigerian ace is still available. However, it remains to be seen if we can fork the cash to bring him to North London.

Osimhen has a promising career ahead of him. Whether it is at Tottenham or not remains to be seen.
