Tottenham to face Arsenal competition in Max Aarons pursuit
According to a report from Goal (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur will have to battle against arch rivals Arsenal for the signing of Norwich City youngster Max Aarons in the summer.
Norwich City have struggled upon their return to the top flight. The 20-year-old Aarons though has made a solid impression in what is his Premier League debut campaign.
Aarons, so far in 2019/20, has featured in 27 Premier League matches. The youngster has contributed with two assists so far. His performances have put him on the radars of Tottenham, with Jose Mourinho eyeing reinforcements for the right-back slot. (h/t Daily Mail)
Having allowed Kieran Trippier to leave last summer, the club failed to bring in any replacements. This left us with just Serge Aurier as the only senior right-back in the squad. While the Ivorian has done well when attacking, he remains a liability at the back.
Hence, bringing in a new right-back to the side should be a priority for Spurs, with Aarons emerging as a viable target. However, the club will now face competition from our arch rivals Arsenal in pursuit of the Norwich starlet.
Norwich are keen on recouping £30m from Aarons’ sale this summer. This valuation though, has seemingly discouraged Arsenal from making a move, given their financial problems. (h/t Football.london)

Tottenham will also be operating on limited finances this summer due to the impact of the coronavirus. However, as per the report, a move for Aarons is not being ruled out at this point. It also adds that Norwich may be forced to lower their valuation if they get relegated from the Premier League.
Aarons would be a good addition to the side, and if we happen to beat our rivals to his signing, it would make the deal sweeter.
