Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris feels regenerated after lockdown

In a recent interview, Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris has claimed that he feels refreshed and regenerated ahead of the return of the Premier League later this month. (h/t Independent)

Lloris has had a difficult campaign, with form and fitness not always by his side. Having spent a large chunk of the campaign out on the sidelines in the first half of the season, the Frenchman wasn’t at his best since prior to the suspension of football due to COVID-19.

The World Cup winner has claimed that it has been an unusual season for him, but the two breaks over the course of the season have helped him regenerate. (h/t Independent)

“I think it’s been a strange season for every player, all around the world. In that type of situation you always try to learn from the positives. On my side I just used that time to regenerate. After 15 seasons at the highest level, you play every season and you never have time to think and to breathe a little bit.”

The veteran goalkeeper added that it was important for him to get to spend some quality time with his family. But he has now switched his focus back to working on his fitness and be ready for when the Premier League restarts.

Tottenham are currently eighth in the Premier League table and will need to win most of their remaining nine matches in order to finish in the top four. And Lloris insisted that it is important for the players to give their everything and try to earn a spot in the next season’s Champions League. (h/t Independent)

Tottenham will resume their Premier League campaign with a home game against fellow top four hopefuls Manchester United. A good start against them could very well set us on our way to the top four. And a regenerated, reinvigorated Lloris will be key for that to happen.
