The winger featured 22 times for the club’s U18s in total, scoring four times and assisting one more. He has ten appearances for the U23 outfit till date, in which he has one goal and assist each. He is, however, yet to make a first-team appearance for the club.

The youngster’s contract with Tottenham was on the verge of expiry on June 30. But he has penned a new deal with the club, which he confirmed with a picture on Instagram, along with the caption that read: “Looking forwards to the next season. #COYS.”

Pochettino Sr. was also in the picture posted by the winger. And interestingly, our former manager was still seen wearing a Tottenham shirt despite having been sacked eight months ago.

The 19-year-old Maurizio Pochettino has done decently for the youth teams and the reserves so far during his time at Tottenham. However, a pathway to the first-team is not easy at the moment. A right- sided winger, Pochettino he will have to compete with Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela and Steven Bergwijn for a spot in the first-team.

The duration of the new contract hasn’t been specified. But it is good to see Maurizio Pochettino being given an extension. It will be interesting to see if Jose Mourinho, who replaced his father at the helm, will hand him a first-team debut anytime soon.
