Taking to Instagram, Maurizio Pochettino – son of former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio, has confirmed that he has signed a new contract with the club.
The 19-year-old Pochettino Jr. joined our academy in 2015 from the Southampton youth setup. He has quickly progressed from the U18 setup to the U23s this season.
The winger featured 22 times for the club’s U18s in total, scoring four times and assisting one more. He has ten appearances for the U23 outfit till date, in which he has one goal and assist each. He is, however, yet to make a first-team appearance for the club.
The youngster’s contract with Tottenham was on the verge of expiry on June 30. But he has penned a new deal with the club, which he confirmed with a picture on Instagram, along with the caption that read: “Looking forwards to the next season. #COYS.”

The 19-year-old Maurizio Pochettino has done decently for the youth teams and the reserves so far during his time at Tottenham. However, a pathway to the first-team is not easy at the moment. A right- sided winger, Pochettino he will have to compete with Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela and Steven Bergwijn for a spot in the first-team.
