Tottenham target Kurt Zouma offered to Paris Saint-Germain

According to a report from TF1 (h/t Express), Chelsea star Kurt Zouma, who has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, has been offered to French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The 25-year-old Zouma has been with Chelsea since 2014, with Jose Mourinho himself signing him at Stamford Bridge. While the Frenchman showed great potential early in his career, injuries have hampered his development. However, after a loan spell at Everton last season, Zouma has shown great improvement.

Given the current plight of our defence, the 25-year-old Frenchman had been mooted as a potential transfer target. However, as per latest reports, Zouma has been offered to PSG, with their manager Thomas Tuchel believed to be an admirer of the defender’s talents. (h/t Express)

The report from TF1 further states that there is interest in Zouma from two English clubs, one of which is Tottenham, according to the Express. It is even being claimed that Mourinho has passed on Zouma’s name as a priority target to Daniel Levy.

It goes without saying that a new central defender is needed at Tottenham. With Jan Vertonghen set to depart, it is imperative that the management strengthens our options at the back.

Chelsea value Zouma at £27m, which, given his experience in the Premier League and age, doesn’t come out as too steep. However, the 25-year-old, much like our right-back Serge Aurier, can be inconsistent and erroneous at times.

In fact, he has dropped below Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger in the pecking order at Chelsea, despite having started the season as first-choice.

However, Mourinho seems to rate the Frenchman highly. So, it will be interesting to see if the club do make a move for Zouma in the summer.
