Tottenham keen on signing Leicester City’s Demarai Gray
According to a report from The Times, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Leicester City winger Demarai Gray in the summer transfer window, who has seemingly fallen out of favour under Brendan Rodgers.
The 24-year-old Gray joined Leicester from Birmingham City back in 2016. However, he hasn’t quite been able to establish himself as a regular in the side, despite spending over four years at the club. Till date, he has featured 166 times for the Foxes, only 74 of which have been starts, scoring 13 goals and assisting 17 more.
The ongoing campaign has seen him be used sparingly by manager Brendan Rodgers. Indeed, he has started just eight games across all competitions, although he has made a decent impact coming on from the bench, bagging three goals and five assists in 28 outings overall.
An alternate report from the Evening Standard claims that Gray could be available on a cut-price deal in the summer as he is in the final year of his contract with Leicester City. This has piqued the interest of Tottenham, who are now considering a swoop for the 24-year-old.
Tottenham have had their eye on Gray since his Birmingham days. With Leicester likely to consider selling him, Jose Mourinho is eyeing a move for the former England youth international. (h/t The Times)
Speculations have only intensified after Mourinho was spotted speaking to the Englishman this past weekend when Spurs faced Leicester.
Gray came on as a half-time substitute on the day as we ran away 3-0 winners. After the match, Mourinho was pictured interacting with the 24-year-old sparking rumours of a summer move. (h/t Evening Standard)

An exciting talent, Gray hasn’t been able to live up to his potential as of yet. A regular run of games could very well change that. However, with Mourinho already having a number of options in the wide areas, it would be interesting to see how he would fit in at our club.
