Sheffield United likely to sign Tottenham loan target Rhian Brewster

According to The Star, Liverpool youngster and Tottenham target, Rhian Brewster is likely to join Sheffield United on loan for the 2020/21 season due to Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp.

The 20-year-old Brewster is one of the brightest young talents in the country currently. A product of the Liverpool academy, the young forward’s development took a hit due to a serious injury he suffered during 2018/19. However, he was back with a bang this past season.

Spending the second half of the 2019/20 campaign on loan at Swansea City, Brewster shone bright, leading the Welsh outfit to the EFL Championship playoff semi-finals. The Englishman featured 22 times for the Swans, scoring 11 goals in the process.

With the youngster set for another loan spell away from Anfield, Tottenham had been lining up a move to snap him up for the 2020/21 campaign. Understandably so, considering that Jose Mourinho has no cover for star striker Harry Kane at the moment. (h/t Football.london)

However, as per the report from The Star, Sheffield United are likely to edge us out to the signing of the England youth international. This is because Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes that the Bramall Lane is the ideal destination for Brewster to continue his development.

Brewster has shown immense potential so far in his fledgeling career. And a loan deal for him had the promise to work out well for us, at least on paper. However, it seems like the youngster will be heading to Sheffield United instead.

While we have done fairly well in the transfer market so far, a new striker remains a necessity. It remains to be seen who the club sign in the coming weeks.
