Leicester City ready to listen to offers for Demarai Gray

According to Mike McGrath of The Telegraph, Leicester City are willing to listen to offers for winger Demarai Gray, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The 24-year-old Gray joined Leicester from Birmingham City back in 2016. However, he hasn’t quite been able to establish himself as a regular in the side, despite spending over four years at the club.

Till date, he has featured 166 times for the Foxes, only 74 of which have been starts, scoring 13 goals and assisting 17 more.

The 2019/20 campaign saw him being used sparingly by manager Brendan Rodgers. Indeed, he started just eight games across all competitions made a decent impact coming on from the bench, bagging three goals and five assists in 28 matches.

Tottenham have had their eye on Gray since his Birmingham days. And it seems like the club is once again looking to land the 24-year-old, with manager Jose Mourinho personally holding talks with the winger last month. (h/t Football.london)

And now, the chances of Spurs landing the 24-year-old Gray have seemingly shot up as Leicester are considering offloading him this summer. It makes sense for the Foxes to try and cash in on the winger, considering that he has less than a year left on his current contract with the club. (h/t The Telegraph)

It has been a promising transfer window for us so far. But, the work is far from being done. A new striker and a defender must be top priority for Mourinho & co. However, a new winger would also be a welcome addition in terms of adding depth to the squad.

With a cramped schedule and four tournaments to compete in, strength in depth will be crucial. Gray, who has Premier League experience, and has that ability to change the game coming on from the bench, could prove to be a shrewd signing.
