Patson Daka on the radars of Tottenham Hotspur
According to Football.london, RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka is one among a number of strikers that Tottenham Hotspur are looking at this summer, in order to strengthen the squad.
It is no secret that Tottenham are in dire need of a new centre-forward in order to cover for star striker Harry Kane. Apart from the England captain, manager Jose Mourinho has no other natural striker at his disposal. Moreover, the club decided to loan out youngster Troy Parrott to Millwall.
Thus, securing a new striker is a must this summer, or we may end up struggling like last season when Kane was out injured. A number of strikers are on the club’s radar as per Football.london, with Zambian forward Patson Daka one among them.
The 21-year-old started out at Zambian club Nchanga Rangers FC and spent time at Green Buffaloes, Kafue Celtic and Power Dynamos FC (loan). After a six-month loan stint with Austrian outfit FC Liefering, Daka was picked up by RB Salzburg in the summer of 2017.
After a slow start to life at Salzburg, Daka burst onto the scenes this past season, plundering 27 goals across all competitions for Salzburg. In addition, he also created 12 more for his teammates, in 45 matches across all competitions. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Primarily a centre-forward, Daka can play out wide as well. His pace and ability to run in behind defences could suit well with the counter-attacking style of play Mourinho likes. In addition, his versatility would mean the manager will have added cover on the flanks as well if there is a need.

It remains to be seen who the club ends up signing. But, going into the campaign without a new striker could prove detrimental to the hopes of a top four finish.
