Gareth Bale to land in London tomorrow to finish Tottenham Hotspur return

According to Sky Sports, Gareth Bale is set to fly to London tomorrow to complete the formalities of his return to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Welshman made a name for himself as one of the best wingers in world football at White Hart Lane. This earned him a move to Real Madrid in 2013. Despite winning a plethora of trophies, his stock in the Spanish capital has fallen of late.

Spurs have taken advantage of the situation and are now close to confirming his return on a one-year loan deal.

Bale will be accompanied by Spanish star Sergio Reguilon. The young left-back is also on the verge of completing his Spurs switch after completing a medical today.

According to the report, lawyers in Spain and England are working on drawing up contracts that will finalize Bale’s deal. The temporary arrangement will Spurs pay about £20m in wages and loan fees.

Talks for Bale have progressed well and is expected to be finalized before he lands in the English capital.

Both Bale and Reguilon are expected to be in a position to avoid quarantining upon their arrival in London.

The twin signings also represent a double win over top-four rivals Manchester United. The Red Devils were also keen on both players but have now come out second best.

Bale is keen to play for a club where he believes he will be treated with respect and appreciation. He currently lacks match fitness and is expected to be ready for action in about a month.

While Bale’s signing is a no-brainer given his ability, it is also a high-risk high-return move by the club.

In fact, Spurs should be lauded for grasping the opportunity when it presented itself. Come next summer, both players could have made a world of difference to our fortunes in the 2020/21 campaign.
