Dele Alli faces uncertain future at Tottenham; PSG interested
According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur superstar Dele Alli is facing an uncertain future at the club after being left out of the matchday squad for back-to-back matches. And this development has put French champions Paris Saint-Germain on high alert.
The 24-year-old was axed from the matchday squads for Tottenham’s Europa League game against Lokomotiv Plovdiv and wasn’t selected for the 5-2 win against Southampton either. Prior to that, the England international was subbed off at half-time by Jose Mourinho in the season opener against Everton last weekend.
All this has led to speculations that all is not well between Alli and Mourinho. And now, Sky Sports is claiming that the attacking midfielder is facing an uncertain future at the club. This situation has piqued the interest of Ligue 1 champions PSG, who are among a host of clubs now interested in signing him up. (h/t Sky Sports)
Asked about Alli’s current situation at the club and whether he will be sold this summer, Mourinho was non-committal in his response. (h/t Evening Standard)
“I’m not responsible for the market. The only thing I can say is that I left eight players behind. I want a balanced squad, that’s what I want. Yes, [he can be part of that]. No, he doesn’t need to be sacrificed, but the squad is a puzzle.”
Alli’s form has dipped drastically over the past couple of years or so. While he showed signs of resurgence under Mourinho, he has struggled to maintain consistency in his game and seemingly fallen out of favour under the manager.

However, the report does insist that even if Tottenham grant an exit for the 24-year-old, it will only be a loan rather than a permanent one. It remains to be seen how this story develops in the coming days.
