Tottenham Hotspur closing in on the signing of new striker
According to Football.london’s Alasdair Gold, Tottenham Hotspur are finally closing in on the signing of a new striker in order to provide backup for star forward Harry Kane.
Tottenham has already completed five major signings this summer. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale have all arrived at the club. However, it is no secret that the club have been on the hunt for a new striker.

As things stand, Tottenham have just Harry Kane as the only natural striker in the squad. The club decided to loan out Troy Parrott to EFL Championship outfit Millwall. So, if, for some reason, Kane misses a game or two, there are no natural replacements to fall back on.
Moreover, considering the rigid schedule this season, not having adequate backup in the position can prove to be a huge mistake.
A number of players have been linked with a switch to Tottenham over the course of the summer. But, there haven’t been any incomings for the striker role as of yet.
However, as per the report from Football.london, the club are finally closing in on a deal to bring in a new centre-forward. The report does not reveal the name of the player that the Lilywhites are poised to sign.
However, it does mention that there were enquiries made for Torino’s Andrea Belotti, Metz striker Habib Diallo and Benfica duo Carlos Vinícius and Haris Seferovic. Arkadiusz Milik is another player linked with Spurs, but the Polish international isn’t the club’s main choice. (h/t Football.london)
